Iowans can brag about living in the Tall Corn State, and magazines and the Iowa State Fair can hold tall corn contests, but that wonderfully tall corn can also be a very tall hazard.
Notice that corn is now taller than passenger vehicles, meaning limited sight distances at a lot of rural intersections. It’s also thick enough to make it hard to see those billowing clouds of dust that signal vehicles on unpaved country roads.
Those intersections can be dangerous…. and that’s no tall tale.
